The process of getting Clip in veneers should in no way damage your natural teeth. Your own teeth are not removed, shaved, or ground down in preparation for using these temporary veneers which are custom-made to simply fit over your natural teeth to improve their appearance. This is different to permanent veneers supplied and fitted by a Dentist because invariably permanent veneers require removal of a thin layer of enamel from the buccal (outward facing) surface of the teeth which are to be veneered.
What exactly are clip in veneers?
They are a relatively new product, designed especially to fit over your own teeth which you can remove or wear whenever you please, giving you a whiter, straighter smile in an instant. They come as a single full piece for each set of teeth (upper or lower) and getting them should cause no pain whatsoever, unlike porcelain veneers, which need the expertise of a dentist to fix them permanently in your mouth. Temporary veneers are therefore normally considerably lower in price than porcelain veneers.
Benefits of clip in veneers
One of the biggest benefits of these types of veneers is that a dentist is not involved in getting them fitted. However, you must still practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist regularly, as always. Other benefits include covering:
- Crooked teeth could be made to looker straighter
- Missing teeth
- Discoloured teeth
- Overcrowded teeth
- Chipped teeth
Each design is unique to each customer, so final results do vary person to person.
Temporary veneers can sometimes do wonders for those who lack confidence and self-esteem because they feel they might have an unattractive or irregular smile due to teeth that are less-than-perfect.
What materials are used to make these veneers?
For our Elite product we use a material called a flexible resin, specially designed to be worn in the mouth, is used to manufacture temporary veneers. It is a certified, dental-grade material created to produce whiter, straighter teeth for a beautiful smile, every time! Even though the material used in their manufacture is flexible, it is designed to be durable and long-lasting as well.
Our cheaper Ideal veneers are made from a dental grade polymer which is somewhat softer and more plyable then the resin used for our Elite veneers but it is slightly thicker and cannot be finished in the same way as the resin we use forour Elite veneers, meaning our Elites are somewhat more natural looking.
What prevents them from falling out?
These temporary veneers are flexible, durable, and designed specially to fit over your own teeth comfortably and can be inserted or removed very easily whenever you want to. There is no need to have your veneers bonded nor generally is it necessary to use a poly grip to keep them in your mouth. Instead, you simply slide them other your own teeth and they use the natural shape of your own teeth to clip onto them and thus stay in place- a bit like a dental retainer!
The great thing about clip in veneers is that they do not cover your palate and end at your gum line, rather than overlapping your gums, making them much easier to get used to.
